Originally debuting in what Rider Magazine dubbed the “golden age” of sport-touring, the Sprint ST was Triumph’s mark on the industry, a model that introduced the signature British touch to a new sector.
Based off the British firm’s iconic three-cylinder 955cc engine — shared amongst a number of motorcycles in the lineup — the Sprint ST boasted 110hp and 71.5lb-ft of torque. And here’s the thing: because the bike tipped the scales just shy of 550lbs, riders could keep up in the twisties while staying comfortable during long days in the saddle.
With a single-sided swingarm paired to some mounted luggage, the Sprint ST exuded an air of performance and quality while enticing any rider to throw a leg over it for their next big adventure, or for a weekend jaunt in their local twisties. As MCN put in their review: “Superb British all rounder Triumph Sprint ST pipped Honda’s VFR800 simply by using a straight bat when the VFR tried all kinds of trick but ultimately unnecessary technology. Plus the Triumph Sprint ST undercuts the VFR on price too. Superb all-round sports tourer with a grunty three cylinder engine that makes it anything but bland.”
This example is VIN: SMT600FM5YJ101899. The seller acquired the bike through a private party on Iconic Motorbikes. He is letting the bike go as he is looking to fund an attempt at “the Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia in 2026. Competed in 2023 but crashed out on Stage 7 at which time I was running 75th out of 165 riders.”
The odometer shows 30,240 miles.
