A sport-tourer with an emphasis on sport, the Futura was powered by a motor based on the unit found in Aprilia’s repli-racer RSV Mille. Combine that with a comfortable seat and factory hard bags and you had a bike that could keep up with most sport bikes in the twisties while allowing you to ride for hours at a time.

MCN called itdesperately underestimated, sadly short lived and now a potential bargain“.

Cycle World on why they called it the best sport-touring bike of 2001 and a Best Used Bike. As they put it, “the Mille-based V-Twin makes competitive power, and its twin-spar aluminum chassis elevates class standards for handling..”

Manufactured in June 2001, this example (VIN: ZD4PWD0011S000300) is one of over thirty motorcycles that we are auctioning off from the Alan Wilzig collection over the next couple of weeks. Alan is the original owner.

The odometer shows 5,131 miles.

In preparation for the listing, we detailed it, repaired leaking quick disconnect fuel lines, replaced the fuel line in the fuel pump, cleaned the fuel injectors, disconnected the Power Commander, and installed a new battery. Our technician notes that the Pirelli Diablo tires are from 2002 and the oil should be replaced.
