Sold between in 2000 and 2006 in two different versions, the RC51 has gone down as one of the most legendary motorcycles to ever come out of Honda, well-deserving of the “RC” designation that’s graced other famous Hondas like the RC30, RC40, and RC45.

With 133 horsepower, 71 ft-lb of torque, and Honda reliability, it was an absolute gem. Cycle World thinks this is one of the best used bikes you can buy, and we’d have to agree. This was Honda’s take on the V-Twin replica racer, beating Ducati at it’s own game with multiple World Superbike Championships and a AMA Championship.

This example is VIN: JH2SC45351M100431.

The seller acquired it five months ago “from the original owner in Tennessee this past winter” and has covered approximately 500 miles since. The odometer shows 30,750 miles.

The seller is letting it go as “I am now 54 years old and my body just doesn’t fit the same on the bike as it did 20 years ago. I just had to undergo a major surgery in May and I’ve tried riding the bike and it is no longer comfortable for me to ride. I don’t want this great bike to just sit in the garage gathering dust.”

Modifications:
Erion Racing exhaust.

Scotts steering damper.

Corbin seat.

Double bubble windscreen.

Tank grip pads.

Carbon fiber front fender.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
“The VIN plate on the left side of the frame was missing when I bought the bike and the owner said it had fallen off many years ago. The mounting tab of the upper cowling on the left side cracked right at the mounting bolt when I was replacing the turn signal switch set. I was able to use clear epoxy to put the tab back on and it has held with no issues. Only noticeable if you are looking for it.”

The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues. “All fluids and filter were changed 500 miles ago and valves inspected.”

The sale includes the passenger seat as well as the original rider’s seat, a set of PAIR block-off plates from Dan Kyle, a brand new 520 chain, 15/41 sprockets, and the original front fender.

It also includes a set of Hotbodies race bodywork “which is a little rough but usable for the track and with some sanding and painting would look good as new.”

Currently located in Beverly Hills, Michigan, this Honda is offered on a clean Michigan title.
