Description

Additional photos of this 2001 Honda RC51 are available here for your perusal.

We’ve sold lots of wonderful RC51s here at Iconic, but this one stands out as it’s offered in a livery that was never sold in the United States. It is part of the collection of motorcycles we imported from South Africa, and per the previous owner it is one of 3 or 4 European market silver RC51s that were imported to SA as part of a pilot program by the South African distributor.

It was owned by a husband and wife duo who worked for Honda – they used this as a press/event bike and then later kept in their house.

Manufactured in February 2001, this example is VIN: JH2SC45U21M100444.

The odometer shows 19,150 kilometers (11,899 miles).

Modifications:
According to the previous owner, the tail has been signed by Colin Edwards. The signature has not been clear coated.

Yoshimura RS-3 dual exhaust.

Tinted windscreen.

Preload knob adjusters on forks.

Ermax tank pad.

Braided brake lines.

Aftermarket rear turn signals.

The sale includes several extras: a second tail section with additional decals, rider’s seat, passenger seat, windshield, Trickbitz undertail, one turn signal, tail light, stock exhaust, and a bag of screws/misc hardware.

Cosmetic Blemishes:

Inside of the tank:

The sale includes two keys.

In preparation for the listing, we had Daniel detail the bike and install a new battery. He noted that the brakes have roughly 90% life left, the Bridgestone Battlax BT016 Pro Hypersport tires are from 2016, and the front brake light switch is not working (the rear switch does work).

Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Honda is offered on a clean Oregon title. Have any RC51 stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
