Retro-inspired modern classics seem to be all the rage right now, but a few companies were well-ahead of the game. One of the most notable efforts was the Kawasaki ZRX1200R – Cycle World called it “a replica of a replica,” as it was designed to make you think of the iconic 1982 Eddie Lawson Replica.

Expectedly, it came in Kawi Green. However, the ZRX was also available in silver, red, and blue.

The 1,164cc DOHC liquid-cooled engine produced 123 horsepower, good for a top speed of over 120 mph. It’s fun but also comfortable if you’re the kind of person that wants to ride for hours at a time.

Manufactured in March of 2001, this example is VIN: JKAZR9A131A009029. The seller purchased the bike two years ago through an Iconic auction.

During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 400 miles. The odometer shows 8,913 miles.

Modifications:
In the US, the ZRX was available in a variety of colors: silver, blue, red, and the traditional Kawasaki Green. But what you may not know is that in Japan, Kawasaki updated the model only for the Japanese market. It was called the ZRX1200 DAEG, and this ZRX was repainted in the DAEG’s dark metallic blue livery.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Metzeler M7 RR tires with date codes of 3614 and and 4814.

The sale includes one key.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:

Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Kawasaki is offered on a clean California title with registration current through August 2023.
