In 2001, Suzuki released the third generation of the GSX-R600 – the big news was the addition of fuel injection, which helped bump horsepower up to 115 at 13,000 rpm. In addition, Suzuki’s engineers were able to shave 25 pounds of weigh from the previous generation.
It was a much needed update – MCN said, “As other sports 600s were creeping ahead, Suzuki looked as if it would be left for dead. And then they came up with this Suzuki GSX-R600. Slimmed down, firmed up and with power and torque figures to raise front wheels as well as eyebrows, the new Suzuki GSX-R600 was an absolute storm. New fuel injection was super smooth, even low down. This Suzuki GSX-R600 is a masterpiece.”
Manufactured in November of 2000, this example is VIN: JS1GN7BA812103200. The seller acquired the bike four months ago; he had intended to convert it into a track bike but he has since decided to go in a different direction.
The odometer shows 13,169 miles.
