Originally built by Chris Baker with the help of Motomorphic back in ~2002, this custom Suzuki was called the “MV-SV Special.” Details of the build are still hosted over on SV650.org, but here are the highlights:
2001 Suzuki GSX-R1000 front end, Race Tech gold valves and springs, Galfer wave rotors, braided brake lines.
Suzuki GSX-R1000 handlebars.
Penske 3-way adjustable shock with remote reservoir.
“2-into-2 exhaust that uses the stock crossover…you could call it a 2-1-2-4 but that’s really more of a visual description.”
Honda RC30 swingarm/rear brake, Dymag Sport 5 magnesium wheels, custom one-off carbon fiber chain guard. “It took better than 22 hours of machining and fabrication work just to get the swing arm on.”
Carbon fiber/kevlar tank molded to match the MV tail. (“2 layers of carbon, a layer of kevlar, then a layer of fiberglass and a final layer of carbon. The Kevlar is only running along the sides as that’s the area most likely to take a hit in the case of an accident.”)
Vortex gas cap.
Tyga NC35 front fairing.
This example is VIN: JS1VP52A912104782.
The odometer shows 3,131 miles.
4/29 Update: Thanks to JMF, who noted that the tachometer does not work.
Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Suzuki is offered on a clean California title. The sticker is not currently on the license plate, however he has provided a registration card showing that the tags are good until May 2021.
