Description

Click here for an VINData Motorcycle History Report on this 2002 Ducati 998 Monoposto. Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

For 2002, Ducati gifted the 998 the Testastretta motor that had just won the WSBK championship in 996R guise. The new heart was good for 123 hp and 71 lb-ft at the crank, up from 112 and 67, respectively.

What reviewers found most impressive was how quickly the new engine spun up and how compact the complete package was. Motorcyclist said that “overall, this 998 feels more like a 748 that swallowed a really big gulp of nitrous than it does a 996.”

Their review concluded with a simple statement: “Although it inspired Honda RC51s, Suzuki TLs and Aprilias, there’s still nothing in the world quite like the 916, sorry 998, all these years later.”

This example is VIN: ZDM1SB5V92B018569. The seller acquired the bike from a friend one year ago.

During his ownership, the seller has covered 75 miles. The odometer shows 21,236 miles.

Maintenance:
The seller reports that he has performed an oil change and a safety check. He adds that “factory-trained Ducati tech Irish Mike Hughs replaced the belts approximately 2.5 years ago. They have seen 400 miles since that time.”

Modifications:
Termignoni 54mm stainless steel full exhaust system with titanium mufflers.

Öhlins steering damper.

Oberon clutch slave cylinder.

Carbon fiber exhaust heat shield.

Carbon fiber chain guard, rear fender.

Quick action gas cap.

Tinted windscreen.

Tail light integrated turn signals.

Not pictured: Shorai lithium battery.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires with date codes of 0421 and 2221.

The sale includes one key and the original tool kit.
