When Ben Bostrom was competing in AMA Superbike with a 998S, he raced with the number 155. So when Ducati decided to sell a limited edition replica, they sold 155 examples in the US, 155 examples in the UK, and another 155 for the rest of the world.
Ben signed every tank himself.
When it comes to limited edition Ducatis, the differences can sometimes just be cosmetic. In this case, the Bostrom rep got you Ohlins suspension, a blue frame, Marchesini wheels, and some carbon fiber pieces.
USA “S” models got 4-pot Brembos, Ohlins steering damper, larger exhaust, and a carbon belly pan.
The seller of this example (VIN: ZDM1SB5V928015185, Engine #: SB52000580) acquired it approximately one year ago from a private party in Georgia.
It is #14 of 155, and the odometer shows 13,074 miles.
Modifications:
Termignoni exhaust.
GP shift.
5/29 Update:
The seller has provided additional photos showing that this has the original carbon fiber side panels.
Maintenance:
In March 2021, the bike got an oil change and all fluids flushed. The tires and battery are from 2018, and the seller has “service records for about 5 to 7 years.”
Cosmetic Blemishes:
The sale includes the original stand, a spare custom seat, original exhaust, manuals, rear fender, rear sets, service records, tool kit, and an OEM Bostrom plaque that the seller had a local shop create a new plate for to match his bike.
Currently located in Islamorada, Florida, this Ducati is offered on a clean Georgia title. The seller is letting it go as he multiple 998S Ben Bostrom motorcycles and is thinning out his bike duplicates.
