Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

Debuting in 2001, the Monster S4 was lightning in the bottle for an outdated Monster lineup. Previously, Ducati enthusiasts had not seen a significant update (or even a facelift) since the mid 90s. The powerplant was a 916 V-twin engine, providing enough low-end grunt for the daily rider, while revving high enough to spirit one to adrenaline-inducing speeds.

The S4 offered improved suspension over previous models, as well as increased ground clearance, allowing for a sportier approach to the naked bike. The new Monster boasted a respectable power output, making 97hp and 64lb-ft of torque. These numbers, combined with more premium features that came stock — such as Brembo brakes, Showa suspension, and carbon fiber bits spread throughout the chassis — gave the motorcycle an air of quality that was refreshing in the outdated Monster lineup.

This example is VIN: ZDM1RB8S12B013007. The seller acquired the bike from Thousand Oaks Powersports in September of 2020.

During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 900 miles. The odometer shows 7,207 miles.

Maintenance:
The seller states, “I have complete documentation of all maintenance done on the bike, going back to 2013, including the details of the full Desmo service done in 2020, which included new spark plugs, new timing belts, flushing and replacement of all fluids.”

Modifications:
Termignoni exhaust and ECU.

Öhlins rear suspension.

Öhlins frame-mounted steering damper.

Vented carbon fiber clutch cover.

Carbon fiber belly pan.

Please note: The seller swapped the tires with those from another Monster in his collection. They are now Pirelli Diablos with date codes of 3818 and 2719.
