In 1956, Johnny Allen set a land speed record of 214 miles per hour on a Triumph at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah – a couple of years later, they paid homage to that accomplishment with a performance model that bore the iconic name. The original Bonnie was produced until Triumph’s bankruptcy in 1983, and it was brought back in 2001 to much fanfare.

The reincarnated model utilized a new engine design, a 790cc parallel-twin with a 360-degree crankshaft producing 61 horsepower and 44 foot-pounds of torque. The British firm put a lot of effort into keeping some of the aesthetic charm from the old pushrod twin of prior Bonnevilles.

Manufactured in January of 2001, this example is VIN: SMT900HN02J139518. The seller acquired it two years ago from a private party.

The odometer shows 3,160 miles.
