Yamaha has been in the 600cc sportbike game since the introduction of the XJ600 in 1984. In 1998 however, the company would redefine the 600cc supersport class with the introduction of the all-new YZF-R6. Designed as a 600cc version of the freshly released R1 and offered as a higher-performance alternative to the YZF600R, the R6 featured a remarkable alloy frame and swing-arm and was powered by an inline-four that was the first 200hp-per-liter engine on a production 600. Since its inception, the R6 has been a popular platform for amateur and professional racers alike. The seller of this listing calls it a “complete race or track day package – this bike is ready to race or ride, just needs new tires, some fuel and you are ready. Fully AFM safety wired and should pass tech.”
