Unveiled in 2001 at the Bologna Motor Show, the Tuono (Italian for “thunder“) was introduced as a naked sibling to the impressive RSV Mille. Everyone knows the Tuono Factory now – it’s a constant winner of standard bike comparisons – but the precedent for a top-level Tuono was introduced to the world via a very limited-production (we’ve heard estimated between 200 and 220) called the Tuono R Limited or the Tuono Racing.

The stock Tuono was impressive in its own way, but the only-for-2003 Tuono Racing took it to the next level with high-end components including OZ wheels, Brembo radial calipers, and Ohlins suspension (forks, steering damper, and shocks).

All of the bodywork (ignoring the tank and seat cowl) was carbon fiber.

According to this review on Motorcyclist, just 50 made it to the United States.

Manufactured in April of 2003, this example is VIN: ZD4RPC0523S000045. The seller acquired the bike one year ago.

During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 400 miles. The odometer shows 2,278 kilometers (1,415 miles).

Maintenance:
In April 2023, the seller had our service department install a Brembo radial master cylinder, replace the caliper pistons and pads, wash the calipers, flush the brake fluid, flush the coolant and install a Samco hose and clamp kit, and replace the oil and oil filter.

Olly did the work, he noted the following in his condition report:
Tire Year Front/ Rear: 2022
Tire Life – Front/Rear: 100%
Tire Pressure – Front: 34.5PSI; Rear:30PSI
Bike Arrived with 15 PSI Rear, aired up to 36 and now sits at 30.
-> Observe rear tire pressure for possible leaks.
Brake Life – Front/ Rear : 100%
Hydraulic Fluid – Front/Rear: Ok
Engine Oil – Level: Ok; Quality: Ok
Coolant – Level: Ok; Quality Ok, Water Wetter
Turn: Ok, No rear signals installed
Killswitch: Ok
Horn: Ok
Battery: 12.6V
Test Ride: Ok

The seller notes that he installed a “brand new uprated Yuasa YTX14-BS battery last month.”

Modifications:
Factory kit front fairing/headlight delete.

Factory kit titanium exhaust.

Aftermarket frame sliders.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tires with date codes of 2022 and 2022.

The sale includes two keys and the original owner’s manual.

The sale also includes the street headlight/fairing, the Factory Kit extended bellypan, the passenger seat, the stock mirrors, the Factory Kit mesh taillight cover, the stock turn signals, the Factory Kit race chip and reverse-pattern shifter and race chip, as well as a Pit Bull stand and a stainless steel Factory muffler.
