In an age when sportbikes ruled, the Monster gave buyers a taste of something fresh. Between its torquey engine and café racer looks, it was an overnight sensation. The following year in ’94 Ducati made the Monster more approachable with the M600. With its 584cc engine — putting out 54hp — and tempting price tag, it was an instant hit. In 2001, Ducati improved on its entry level offering by replacing the 600 with the 620. Sporting fuel injection and a new 618cc engine, the updated middleweight Monster benefitted from a further nine ponies.

The air-cooled Desmosdromic engine put out 63 horsepower (9 up from its predecessor) and the bike weighed just 370 pounds dry. AS MCN put it, “Good build quality and finish (the frame’s taken from the Ducati Monster S4R), that alluring logo on the tank and a traditionally juicy-sounding exhaust add up to an attractive package with the little Ducati M620 Monster.”

“She’s a life long dream I’ve had of owning a Radical Ducati by Pepo Rosell. I’ve built three like this one. They all run excellent and do track days regularly. This bike was customized 6 years ago. It was recently completely refreshed. It comes with lots of extra parts, receipts, tools, templates, shop manual and a rear stand. All the work was done by me and the fuel mapping was done at a local Ducati tuning shop (receipts included). This bike is super light (350 lbs.) and handles like a train on rails. Not as nimble as the 900 but a track weapon none the less. It is my Italian version of a Ninja 400. It too sports a top of the line suspension, tuned by Race-Tech. This motorcycle was invited to show at the Handbuilt Show in Austin, unfortunately I couldn’t afford the trip at the time. She is a show stopper, I get comments all the time, everywhere I go. She is safety wired in all the right places and has titanium hardware all over the place. I also use carbon fiber whenever possible in the construction of all my bikes. Bar-end mirror included, sorry, I don’t do blinkers. I need to make room for other builds and I don’t ride it enough. I am getting old, so I’m riding mostly dirt now. It’s a little safer and funner for me. I still do a couple of track days a year, for which I use a classic ’03 R1.”

Maintenance:
“It was recently completely refreshed. New brake pads and rotors, Brembo RCS controls, and new fork oil. Valve adjustment, timing belts and spark plugs were done around 1,500 miles ago in 2021.” The seller states there are no known mechanical issues. “She is mostly ridden on track and is therefore in pristine mechanical condition.”
