Made in celebration of the legendary Dougie Lampkin’s iconic career, the 315R Dougie Lampkin Replica (known colloquially as the ‘DLR’) was a redesign of the popular trials machine by Honda. The Montesa Honda 315R first entered the trials scene in late 1997 as a collaborative effort between the two motorcycle manufacturers – Honda bringing the reliability and decades of experience in high-revving motors, while Montesa brought their R&D from previous models such as the Cota to form a reliable, high-performance machine.
The 315R came in a lightweight package, featuring a function-over-form aluminum frame and a single-cylinder two-stroke engine that tipped the scales at just over 165 pounds! With numbers like that, it wasn’t long after that the tiny trials bike gained national recognition – with rider’s like Dougie Lampkin winning consecutive victories from the motorcycle’s debut in 1997 through to 2003. To commemorate Lampkin’s success, Honda and Montesa developed a replica model that would be available to the public. Outfitted with unique features such as a special design on the tank and a less-restrictive exhaust, the DLR was a full-blown trials competition bike ready to compete straight from the manufacturer!

“My son acquired the bike in from an acquaintance in the Fallbrook area. Not sure of the history before that but the area is known for high level off road racers. I bought it from him when he left the country a couple years ago. It has been sitting in the garage mostly for the last 4 years, just ridden around the yard periodically.”

“Just cleaning the dust off, not ridden so no maintenance.” The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues.
