When Suzuki introduced the SV650 in 1999, they had themselves an instant classic. They also had an amazing 1,000cc street bike V-Twin engine in the iconic TL1000R sport bike, so it didn’t take long for consumers to beg Suzuki for a SV1000 as well. Suzuki obliged them in 2003, and the resulting creation put down 108 horsepower and 69 ft-lbs of torque to the rear wheel. As stated in a BikeSocial review, “you will fall in love with that thumping V-twin motor that remains packed full of charm with a wicked exhaust note and stacks of grunt. It’s a cracking engine and while not amazingly powerful, is still a million miles away from an inline four in terms of character. Add to this bullet-proof reliability, cheap service costs and it is hard to argue against the SV.”
The SV1000 was available with a fairing and without – the latter is a rarer find and is more comfortable thanks to lower pegs and flat handlebars.
Manufactured in May of 2003, this example is VIN: JS1VT54A432104832, Engine #: T508-115745. The seller acquired it from a private party in Oregon two years ago.
During his ownership, the seller covered 2,000 miles. The odometer shows 6,102 miles.
Maintenance:
“Tires have approximately 500 miles on them, battery is two-years old (always kept on a maintainer), all fluids are fresh.” The seller notes that there are no known mechanical issues.
Modifications:
Yoshimura slip-on.
Corbin seats (stock seats included).
Taller handlebars (stock handlebars included).
Protectors on the tail section.
Cosmetic Blemishes:
“A very recent “parked on the centerstand in the garage” incident resulted in a small dent on the otherwise perfect tank and cosmetics. The dent is shown in the pictures, the paint was not damaged.”
The sale includes one key and the original owner’s manual.
Currently located in Tigard, Oregon, this Suzuki is offered on a clean Oregon title.
