In 2004, Aprilia updated their excellent RSV1000R sportbike to the second generation with a bevy of upgrades, most notably the 60-degree V90RR magnesium motor. It also got dual exhausts, tweaks to the chassis, and new styling.
The base model was called the RSV1000R, but the one you wanted was the Factory. Why? In addition to the special livery, the Factory gained Ohlins suspension and OZ wheels.
Manufactured in January of 2004, this example is VIN: ZD4RRC0114S000093. The seller is the original owner, a Piaggio/Aprilia employee who bought it new in 2015 after it was returned by a dealership who gave up the franchise. “Prior to my purchase of the motorcycle, the acid pack hadn’t been drained into the battery, and the bike was prepped as new 11 years after the 2004 RSV’s hit showroom floors.”
“The odometer shows 0 miles. This is common on this generation RSV as, if it lost power, the odometer would reset. Estimated mileage is 250-300.”
Soon after purchasing the bike, the seller and his wife had a child. “The bike was ridden approximately 250 – 300 miles through our move in 2017 when it was parked in the garage as our family continued to grow. The bike has been garage stored, on a Baxley Sport Chock and swingarm stand for the entire time that I have owned it and is 100% original. The tires have not been in contact with the garage floor.”
Maintenance:
In October of 2021, the seller had AF1 Racing prep it for sale after it sat for five years: they installed a new battery, fuel filter, fuel line hose, fuel hose crush washer, fuel pump o-ring, and fuel pump. They also cleaned the injectors.
“The swingarm recall has NOT been performed. The VIN will show, in Aprilia’s system, as having the recall performed, but the original part remains installed (former dealer likely took the money without performing the work). AF1 requested support from Aprilia to perform the work, and was denied. My take, and that of many of my former coworkers is that this is a non-issue, but it bears noting.”
Modifications:
The seller states that this bike is completely stock.
Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller notes “a minor scuff on the windscreen.”
Inside of the tank:
It is riding on the original Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa tires.
The sale includes two keys, the dealer instructions, warranty + service book, use + maintenance book, and original purchase paperwork.
Currently located in Rockwall, Texas (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Aprilia is offered on a clean Texas title.
