The first generation of the Aprilia Tuono was a bit of a revelation – as Jerry Smith put it in a Motorcyclist magazine story, “Buried deep in the mission statement of every road-going sportbike is usually the requirement that some measure of civility be maintained so the bikes don’t scare off potential buyers like snarling dogs in an animal shelter. The design team at Aprilia that penned the specs for the Tuono missed that memo.”
Much of this was due to the engine – unlike most sportbike/standard pairings of the day, the Tuono’s V-twin mill wasn’t down on power from the engine found in the RSV Mille with a claimed 127 horsepower and 76 lb-ft of torque. Estimated 0-60mph came in at 3.1s with a 0-100 km/h in 3.2 sec, 0-200 km/h in 11.4 sec and quarter mile time is 11.1 sec.
Manufactured January 2004, this example is VIN: ZD4RPC0514S000281. The seller purchased the bike approximately two years ago from a private party and states, “I had purchased the bike from an avid motorcyclist who enjoyed the occasional track day in addition to his other bikes in his stable. He had acquired the bike back in 2006 and updated it with all the noted options of the bike… Basically making it RSV-R Model / Track Version Only. I was planning on returning to the track for trackday events here in south Florida but health reasons and the wife have change my idea/decision.”
True mileage is unknown.

Per the seller, “All fluids have been changed, oil and filter, brake and clutch fluids.”

42 tooth rear sprocket.

It is riding on Bridgestone Battlax Racing Street RS10 tires with date codes of 2015.
