One of the last models Benelli created before they were acquired by the Qianjiang Group in China, the Tornado Tre has one of the most distinctive styling cues in motorcycle history: colored radiator fans under the taillight.
The fans weren’t just a unique styling touch – they were the result of a deliberate decision to move the radiator under the seat instead of the usual position up front. This allowed Benelli to make the front end narrower and make the steering geometry sharper. Another interesting touch was the use of aircraft-spec glue in conjunction with screws to secure the four trellises of the frame together.
The base Tornado Tre was equipped with excellent components such as 50mm Marzocchi USD forks, Extreme Tech monoshock, Brembo brakes, and an Arrow exhaust. But on top of that, Benelli released an up-spec version called the RS.
RS goodies included radial front brake calipers, forged Marchesini wheels, adjustable steering damper, and carbon fiber front fender.
It also had some tweaks to the motor – Benelli claimed 140 horsepower.
There were two color options: yellow or red. Both had a black lower fairing.
This Tornado (VIN: ZBNTB00024P100285) is offered with on the MSO as it’s never been titled or registered.
The odometer shows 1 mile.
Please Note: we sold this bike on our auction site in November 2020 to an international buyer in Kuwait who funded the purchase immediately. However, the port of Los Angeles had just changed some rules regarding export and they banned the shipment of bikes out on MSO’s older than one year. The solution is to obtain a USA title but he doesn’t care to have the added title expense and the additional shipping costs as Kuwait doesn’t have many LCL options and air freight is simply too pricey. The new owner has been amazing to work with and exception patient, but he’s told us to “try and find her a new home – if that doesn’t work then we will work on Plan B.”

This is one of the last few bikes we have from the 0-mile collection we’ve been selling off the last few months.
