Please Note: this bike does not currently run and will need a carb clean. As such, there is no cold start video.
Czech native Pavel Blata first got involved with minibikes making parts for the Vittorazi minimoto company in the early 1990s. Expectedly, Blata was quickly hooked; before long, he was selling a line of his own bikes bearing his name. Come 1996, Pavel Blata organized his own one-make class — the Blata Cup Racing Series — to be held throughout the Czech Republic. Equally represented by junior racers, female riders, and semi-pros alike, the series has seen winners go on to compete in the minimoto European Championships with great success.

Over the years, Blata has manufactured everything from scooters to pocket bikes to 125cc enduros. Minibike 2.5s are amongst the most common models you’ll find, as their small size and sporty looks provide the ideal canvas for a pint-sized race replica. In fact, Blata often imitates iconic racing liveries from bikes such as the Ducati’s NCR 900, Suzuki’s Lucky Strike RGV, Yamaha’s Red Bull YZR500 and even Honda’s RC51.

The example you see before you was meant to mimic the livery on Colin Edwards’ RC51 that he rode at the Laguna Seca round of the 2002 WSBK Championship (he won the overall championship that year). Beneath its “Stars and Stripes” bodywork, it’s powered by a 39cc two-stroke single — mated to an automatic clutch and a Dell’Orto 14 carb — good for a whopping 3hp and 2.6lb-ft of torque. While those figures might not sound like much on paper, they’re more than enough for a claimed 40 mph top speed.

This example is VIN: 36871JCZ. The seller acquired it from the original owner one year ago.

The seller has not ridden it during his ownership. There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown.

Maintenance:
“No maintenance done. Never ridden myself. Prior owner says ran very strong. Needs basic maintenance to get running, carb clean.”
Modifications:
The seller states that this bike is stock.

It is riding on Racing Mini tires that have aged out.

The sale includes the original purchase receipt from 2004 and the owner’s manual.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album in the “Photos” tab for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
