Description

Additional photos of this 2004 Ducati 999S are available here for your perusal.

After a long series of 916-based superbikes, Ducati dramatically mixed things up styling-wise with the vertically-stacked lights and double-sided swingarm of the 999 in 2003.

The styling was polarizing but the riding experience was not. And while the base model was a quality machine, the up-spec S model came with a slight bump in power/torque (141 hp, 82.5 lb-ft), Ohlins 43mm forks, the option for a single-seat (“monoposto”) and standard Termignoni exhaust.

The seller of this example (VIN: ZDMH400AF4B010230) acquired it six months ago “from a local Ducati collector that owned the bike for more than 6 years.”

Since then, he’s covered approximately 100 miles. The odometer shows 18,689 kilometers (11,612 miles).

Modifications:
Termignoni exhaust and Nemesis race ECU.

Nemesis racing ECU + spare OEM ECU.

Open dry clutch cover.

Carbon fiber tank guard and ignition guard.

Carbon fiber mirrors.

Carbon fiber fairing sills and front fender.

Carbon fiber rear hugger and heel guards.

Carbon fiber exhaust shield, 520 DID gold chain

Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller notes: scratch on the top cover of the left mirror, small chip on the left side seat cowl, scratch on fuel cap cover, small scratch on left rear rim, small scuff mark on left frame above foot peg, and a small paint chip mark on the right side frame below the tank.

It had an annual service last year and the seller will include an annual service with his local Ducati dealership as part of this sale before the bike is picked up or shipped. The sale also includes a spare OEM ECU, two black keys, red key, and the OEM tool kit.

He is letting it go to make room for a Ducati 1299 Panigale. Currently located in Pretoria, South Africa, this Ducati is offered on a clean South African title (deregistered). Have any 999 stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the comments!

Iconic’s White Glove process for an auction winner that requires shipping out of South Africa:
We release money to the seller once it’s dropped at our transport company. From there we get the necessary clearances and in this case, we’ll include it in our next container as we’ve queued up a few motorcycles in South Africa that will be ready to ship (which drastically amortizes your cost) in approximately a month. We handle Customs and receipt into the port of Los Angeles. We can also help with the USA title process.

Based on our previous shipping experiences from South Africa, we’d estimate that it would take 8-10 weeks for the bike to get to Los Angeles and another 8 weeks for a US title.
