Additional photos of this Honda NSR50R are available here for your perusal.

The NSR50 was in Honda’s lineup for decades before they blessed the USA with a chance to officially try it for ourselves in 2004. Before that year, Americans had to either order one directly from HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) or try to import one through the gray market. It was well worth the effort, because Honda used components that made it much more competent on the track than the usual choice of the Yamaha YSR50. But for 2004 (and only for that year), you could go to certain dealers and walk out with this diminutive-yet-impressive race bike the same day. It was easily the best deal in minibike racing at the time.

Producing 7.2 horsepower at about 10,000 rpm, the 49 cc two-stroke single is liquid cooled and redlined at 11.5k. This helps powered the NSR50 to a top speed of about 60 mph. Ask anyone serious about racing and they’ll tell you that this is one of the best bikes to get started on. Frankly, many experienced riders love getting practice on the NSR50 and its incredibly light weight of just 161 pounds.

This example is VIN: RS501101612. The seller acquired it one month ago from a motorcycle collector in Northern California. He also recently sold a Yamaha FZR400 here on Iconic Motorbike Auctions.

There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown. The previous owner stated that this had roughly 200 miles, and the seller covered less than 1 mile just to test after a carb clean.

Modifications:
Aftermarket rearsets.

Aftermarket levers.

Blue Honda logos on tank.

Cosmetic Blemishes:

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on the original Dunlop TT91GP tires from 2004.

The seller detailed the bike and cleaned the carbs. He adds that there are no known mechanical issues.
