Czech native Pavel Blata first got involved with minibikes making parts for the Vittorazi minimoto company in the early 1990s. Expectedly, Blata was quickly hooked; before long, he was selling a line of his own bikes bearing his name.
Come 1996, Pavel Blata organized his own one-make class — the Blata Cup Racing Series — to be held throughout the Czech Republic. Equally represented by junior racers, female riders, and semi-pros alike, the series has seen winners go on to compete in the minimoto European Championships with great success.
Over the years, Blata has manufactured everything from scooters to pocket bikes to 125cc enduros. The Origami B1 was first released in 2005 and was the company’s fastest mini bike available at the time. The little water-cooled two-stroke single cylinder engine had a displacement of 39cc, 14hp, and could reach speeds upwards of 50 miles per hour.
