After a long series of 916-based superbikes, Ducati dramatically mixed things up styling-wise with the vertically-stacked lights and double-sided swingarm of the 999 in 2003. The styling was polarizing but the riding experience was not. And while the base model was a quality machine, the up-spec S model came with a slight bump in power/torque (141 hp, 82.5 lb-ft), Ohlins 43mm forks, the option for a single-seat (“monoposto”) and standard Termignoni exhaust.

This example is VIN: ZDM1UB5V25B011591. The seller is the second owner, he purchased it from a private party in 2007 and then converted it into a track bike in 2011 with roughly 9,850 miles on the odometer.

During his ownership, the seller has covered 9,868 miles. The odometer shows 12,368 miles.

The seller notes that the 12,000 mile 4 valve service has been performed by Scott Waters of Motoservizio. The work included cam belts, oil/filter change, and valve cover gasket. The sale includes “full service records.”

Modifications:
Custom painted Sharkskinz racing bodywork with 999R branding.

MotoWheels rearsets, Yoyodyne slipper clutch, aftermarket clutch cover, carbon fiber exhaust shield.

Dynojet Power Commander w/ quick shifter (GP shift).

Marchesini forged wheels, Ferodo brake pads, axle sliders, carbon fiber rear fender, swingarm spools.

Quick turn throttle, CRG clutch lever.

Stompgrip tank pads, aftermarket tank guard.

Non-slip seat cover. The OEM seat is included.

The sale includes the original side fairings, kick stand, headlight assembly, and an extra front wheel with rotors.

Cosmetic Blemishes:

It is riding on Bridgestone Battlax V02 soft (front) and V01 medium (rear) slicks with date codes of 2018 and 2418.
