Retro-inspired modern classics seem to be all the rage right now, but a few companies were well-ahead of the game. One of the most notable efforts was the Kawasaki ZRX1200R – Cycle World called it “a replica of a replica“, as it was designed to make you think of the iconic 1982 Eddie Lawson Replica.
It was available in silver, red, blue, and of course: Kawi Green.
The 1,164cc DOHC liquid-cooled engine produced 123 horsepower, good for a top speed of over 120 mph. It’s fun but also comfortable if you’re the kind of person that wants to ride for hours at a time.
Manufactured in September of 2004, this example is VIN: JKAZR9A195A039190. The seller acquired it in July 2021 here on Iconic Motorbikes.
He has not ridden it at all, and is letting it go as he is paring his collection down to focus on dirt bikes. The odometer shows 28,423 miles.

The previous owner changed the oil/filter and installed new brake pads in early 2021. It is riding on Michelin Road 5 tires with date codes of 4219 and 2820.

Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Kawasaki is offered on a clean California title with registration current through July 2022.
