Description

Additional photos of this Ducati 999R are available here for your perusal.

Designed by Pierre Terblanche, the Ducati 999R (and the regular 999 it was based on) was met with mixed reviews with regards to the exterior styling when it was first released. But no one can deny the success that Ducati had in WSBK and AMA racing with the 999R. To comply with AMA homologation rules, the states got 300 examples of the zenith of Ducati road bike technology at the time.

With a staggering MSRP of $29,995, some wondered if the 999R was worth the $7,000 premium over the 999S. Well, it was. While they shared the same Ohlins suspension and radial brakes, the R got an incredible race-bred engine with a larger bore, new head design, and titanium valves. At the time, it was the most powerful production V-Twin motor ever – pushing 134.1 horsepower and 76.5 lb-ft at the rear wheel.

This example is VIN: ZDM1UB5W56B016357. The seller is the original owner, he acquired it from Good Times Motorsports in Sacramento, California.

The odometer shows 4,540 miles.
