This Night Rod was originally sold in California to actor Dennis Hopper, who kept it in his living room. Per the seller, “Dennis actually rode this V-Rod and is reported to say “This is the smoothest and nicest Harley I have ever ridden.” This title is no longer current but it is included for collectability’s sake.
In 2001, Harley-Davidson released the V-Twin Racing Street Custom (VRSC). You may remember it as the V-Rod. A muscle bike that was used as a base for drag racing, Harley got some attention with this bike because the Revolution v-twin engine was jointly developed with Porsche. The V-Rod spawned a multitude of models, including the “Night Rod” of 2006-2008.
The Night Rod got mid controls and blacked out components to complement the 120 horsepower engine.
Manufactured in September of 2005, this example is VIN: 1HD1HDZ316K806474. The seller acquired it three months ago from a private party. “The bike was sold through an estate sale after Dennis Hopper passed away. The gentleman that I purchased the bike from lived in Florida. This gentleman put less than 50 miles on the bike during his ownership as he had some personal issues that prevented him from enjoying the motorcycle.”
During his ownership, the seller has covered less than 20 miles. The odometer shows 749 miles.
It is California and Federally emissions compliant.
Modifications:
Toxic Pipes shorty exhaust. This was installed by the owner after Mr. Hopper.
