6/20 Update: We took this bike for a ride and it wasn’t running as well as we wanted it to. Turns out the Power Commander had some faulty wiring so we removed it.

At the turn of the millennium, the MV Agusta brand was revived with the release of a new flagship, the 750cc F4. Penned by the great Massimo Tamburini, the F4 boasted a ground-breaking design that redefined the modern superbike. In the years that followed, the F4 underwent a series of revisions and model updates, though the bike’s incredible aesthetics went largely unchanged.
Underneath the proverbial hood, however, progress was constant. In 2005, MV Agusta updated the F4 series with a 998cc engine, which bumped power up to 166 horses and top speed up to 184 miles per hour.
The upgraded engine was surrounded by quality components such as 50mm Marzocchi front forks, Sachs shock, and Nissin brakes, but for many riders the styling (particularly the quad organ pipe exhaust) stole the show.
Per the seller, the “bike has recently received a $2,000 service by Chad Wells at Commonwealth Motorcycles in Louisville, Kentucky. Service included the following:
– new battery
– oil service
– flush brake and clutch fluids
– flush coolant system
– replace fan relay
– replace spark plugs
– clean and sync throttle bodies
– adjust TPS and throttle cable
– chain service
– replace broken alternator o-ring and starter”
In preparation for the listing, we gave it a detail, rebuilt the fuel pump sender unit, installed a new Mahle fuel filter, removed the Power Commander (it was causing issues), and installed new Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tires from 2021. Alex did the work and notes that the brake pads are at 60% front and rear.
Not pictured is a Samco Sport silicon radiator coolant hose kit in red, stainless steel radiator hose clamp, and an upgraded water pump.
The sale includes two keys. The sale will include the owner’s manual, tool kit, original foot pegs, original master cylinder covers, and maintenance receipts – they are currently en route to us from the seller.
Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this MV Agusta is offered on a clean Kentucky title. Have any F4 1000 stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
