Description
Additional photos of this Suzuki RM250 are available here for your perusal.
2005 marked the last time that a two-stroker won an AMA Supercross championship, and the feat was accomplished by Ricky Carmichael on a Team Makita Suzuki. To commemorate the feat, Suzuki announced a limited edition model for the following year.
Cosmetic changes included Team Makita Suzuki graphics, gold wheels, and a black seat – and the price was an extra $300. But the base bike was excellent in its own right. MXA said “don’t write that check for a new four-stroke until you’ve thrown a leg over this 250cc two-stroke. It’s like no other bike on the planet.”
This example (VIN: JS1RJ18C262103534) has never been titled or even had any oil in it.
It’s been modified to pay even better tribute to the bike that Ricky won the championship with thanks to a Pro Circuit Works Pipe and Pro Circuit R-304 Stainless Shorty muffler.
The sale also includes:
Signed Ricky Carmichael retail jersey.
Yoshimura Suzuki/Matrix Concepts stand and floor mat.
Poster commemorating Ricky’s ’05 and ’06 championships.
On top of all of that, Ricky has signed the front number plate.
Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California, this RM250 is offered on a Bill of Sale only.
The seller states that this bike never went to a dealership – he was told that it was a Team Makita Suzuki display bike that was eventually auctioned off for charity or a similar situation approximately 15 years ago.
