To celebrate their 50th anniversary, Yamaha took their incredibly popular 1000cc sportbike and modified just 500 examples into near-production racers.

Specific changes made for the Yamaha R1 Limited Edition include: An homage to Kenny Roberts and the original Yamaha racing colors with the lovely yellow/black/white ‘speedblock’ paint.

Front and rear Ohlins suspension – developed by the same team that took care of the Yamaha MotoGP bike of the time…

…slipper clutch, integrated lap timer, Marchesini forged aluminum wheels designed specifically for this bike, plus Yamaha also provided a “special tool box” with each Limited Edition.

Manufactured December 2005, this example is VIN: JYARN15Y26A000951. The seller purchased the bike one year ago and states, “Love the look, grew up on black and yellow Yamahas……bucket list.”

During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 75 miles. The odometer shows 2,799 miles.

Maintenance:
Per the seller, “Full service was done when I purchased from first owner.”

Tinted windscreen.

Flush mount front turn signals.
