Description

Additional photos of this Yamaha R1 LE are available here for your perusal.

To celebrate their 50th anniversary, Yamaha took their incredibly popular 1000cc sportbike and modified just 500 examples into near-production racers.

Specific changes made for the Yamaha R1 Limited Edition include:

An homage to Kenny Roberts and the original Yamaha racing colors with the lovely yellow/black/white paint.

Front and rear Ohlins suspension – developed by the same team that took care of the Yamaha MotoGP bike of the time.

Marchesini forged aluminum wheels designed specifically for this bike.

Slipper clutch.

Integrated lap timer.

Yamaha also provided a “special tool box” with each Limited Edition.

Manufactured in November of 2005, this example is VIN: JYARN15E96A003433. The seller acquired it five years ago from a collector in New Jersey.

It is #243 out of the 500-unit production run.

The odometer shows 6 miles.

Modifications:
The seller states that this bike is completely stock.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
This R1 shows almost perfectly.

It is riding on the original Pirelli Diablo Corsa tires.

The sale includes one key.

In addition to the Limited Edition tool kit, the sale includes
the owner’s manual, service manual, 2006 Yamaha Sportbike catalog, and a 50th Anniversary keychain.

Currently located in Central Massachusetts, this Yamaha is offered on the original MSO.
