To celebrate their 50th anniversary, Yamaha took their incredibly popular 1000cc sportbike and modified just 500 examples into near-production racers.
Specific changes made for the Yamaha R1 Limited Edition include:
An homage to Kenny Roberts and the original Yamaha racing colors with the lovely yellow/black/white paint, front and rear Ohlins suspension – developed by the same team that took care of the Yamaha MotoGP bike of the time, slipper clutch, integrated lap timer, and Marchesini forged aluminum wheels designed specifically for this bike.
Manufactured in November of 2005, this example is VIN: JYARN15E66A003891. The seller acquired it four years ago from a private party.
It is #428 out of the 500-unit production run.
The odometer shows zero miles.
The seller states that this bike is completely stock. He has installed a new battery.
The front fairing has been signed by Wayne Rainey.
The seller states that there are no cosmetic blemishes.
It is riding on the original Pirelli Diablo Corsa tires.
The sale includes a black seat cowl and the owner’s manual. The seller notes that he did not received the Limited Edition tool kit from the previous owner and it is not included in this sale.
The sale also includes the pictured Pit Bull rear wheel stand.
