One of the most visually striking machines to ever come out of Aprilia, the RSV1000R Bol D’Or which was built to commemorate their participation in…the Bol D’Or, a 24 hour endurance race that occurs every spring at Le Mans. Just 200 examples were built in the distinctive purple/red livery.
Stock from the factory, this Aprilia Bol D’Or came well equipped with Ohlins front forks, a slipper clutch, and Brembo calipers.
With that said, it was basically a stock RSV-R. The main difference is the exquisite paint job.
That means you still get the wonderful V60 magnesium v-twin motor, which puts out 143 horsepower at 10,000 rpm.
Currently located at our shop in Marina del Rey, California, this example (VIN: ZD4RRTR037S000711) is offered with a clean “replacement” New Jersey title.
The odometer shows 3,290 miles.
The swing arm recall has been done – there’s no documentation but the part is easily identifiable as the faulty units have two rivet nuts on the inside of the left arm near the axle, and the replacements have only one.
Modifications include aftermarket adjustable levers (we cannot identify the manufacturer).
Danmoto carbon fiber dual exhaust.
Aftermarket fender eliminator (we cannot identify the manufacturer).
The tank has been repainted – in our estimation the purple is perfect though the red isn’t a 100% match.
We note some cosmetic issues, such as wear on the swingarm and some scratches on the right fairing.
We also note some slight melting in the headlights, which is a known issue with these bikes. We’ve included photos of all known cosmetic issues in the album up top, please let us know if you require photos of anything else.
In preparation for the auction, the seller had us rebuild the throttle bodies, replace the fuel and vacuum hoses, install a new Yuasa battery, flush the brake/clutch fluid, top off the oil and coolant, and detail this Aprilia.
It is ready to ride – in fact Abhi took it out on one of our Iconic Sunday Rides a couple of weeks ago and the bike performed flawlessly. Got any questions or stories about the Bol d’Or? Let us know in the comments!
