Almost a decade ago, legendary Ducati tuners NCR created a race bike based on the Paul Smart and called it New Blue – dry weight came down from 398 to 319 pounds, and power was bumped up to 116 horses thanks to NCR’s 1100 engine with titanium connecting rods, titanium valves, forged pistons, balanced/lightened crankshaft, and NCR’s Corse cams. Public response to New Blue (an homage to Old Blue) was positive, so NCR homologated it with 50 examples.
In NCR’s own words, “New Blue is a limited production, track only project commissioned by Ducati North America and developed by NCR. Starting with the platform of a 2007 Ducati Sport 1000 S, this bike recreates the classic styling and uncompromising racing spirit first seen in Old Blue in 1977.
New Blue was created as a homage to Cook Neilson’s 1977 Daytona Superbike victory on a Ducati 76mo0ss known as “Old Blue”. Tuned by Phil Schilling and piloted by Cook Neilson, Old Blue represents the first racing victory for the Ducati brand in North America and served to increase the popularity of Superbike racing in North America immensely.
New Blue production will be limited to 50 numbered motorcycles with each one handmade on demand and custom tailored for the owner by NCR.”

This example is VIN: 125007. The seller is the original owner, he purchased it new from Corse Superbikes in Saukville, Wisconsin (no longer in business) in August 2007. It is production number 12 out of 50.
The seller states that the bike has delivery miles only. “Two or three at most” Iconic was unable to confirm the exact figure, but we believe it could be this 0001 displayed.
