In 2007, Ducati released a limited edition of just 100 SportClassics exclusively for the North American market. Called the Special Edition, it combined modern tech with traditionally-inspired design that was designed to remind Ducati fans of the 1978 900SS Darmah with its classic black and gold paint scheme. 90 were sold in the US, and 10 were sold in Canada.
The Special Edition is one of the rarest modern Ducatis, and they were sold as Monopostos with an identification plaque on the triple trees. Other modifications to make this bike unique included spoked wire wheels, twin muffler shotgun exhaust, and one Sachs shock (as opposed to the dual shocks of the other SportClassics) to make room for said exhaust.
This example is VIN: ZDM1WABPX7B004370. The seller is the original owner; he acquired the bike new and kept it on display with other motorcycles in the back of a jewelry store which was climate-controlled.
It is #095/100.
The odometer shows zero miles. The seller believes that it was fired up as part of the PDI to verify that the bike ran and then the tank was drained.
The battery is not been connected – we used a battery booster box to get the photo of the mileage.
Maintenance:
The seller reports that he has changed the oil and replaced the brake fluid as well as the clutch fluid.
The tank shows no visible signs of swelling.
The rear shock body is leaking, it was wiped down after this photo was taken.
Modifications:
This Sport1000 is completely stock.

It is riding on its original Pirelli Phantom tires.
The sale includes two ignition keys, a red key, as well as the original code card.
The sale also includes the original owner’s manuals, a Ducati accessories catalogue, the stock mirrors, a spare set of clip-ons, as well as a Yuasa battery.

It is still wearing its protective plastics and delivery sticker.
Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Ducati is offered on a clean Texas title (which states that there are three miles on the bikes).
