Description

Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

Despite the retro styling, the Ducati GT1000 was nearly a decade ahead of its time as it had already been killed off well before all the other OEMs started the current rebirth of retro-styled motorcycles – that’s one of the reasons they’ve turned into cult classics.

The GT1000 was a modern take on Ducatis older GT bikes, and it was the most comfortable of the SportClassic line. You got 92 horsepower, dual shocks in the rear, and what has to be the most fender gap I’ve ever seen on a motorcycle (pretty much my only complaint with the styling). Cycle World called this one of the best standard used bike buys out there, also noting that there wasn’t much competition because this bike was ahead of its time.

This example is VIN: ZDN1WABP47B008429. The seller acquired it fourteen years ago from a private party in Arizona. It was originally a California bike (that is still on the California title) but was legally imported into Canada.

During his ownership, the seller covered 6,100 miles. The odometer shows 6,100 miles. As part of the importation process to Canada, the clock faces were changed to kilometers however the odometer reads in miles.

Maintenance:
Only the first 600 mile checkup. The 7,000 mile service isn’t due yet.”

Modifications:
Two bar risers to raise handlebars about 1 and 1/3 inches, two small brackets to change the angle of the clocks.”

Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller states that there are no cosmetic blemishes.

Currently located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, this Ducati is offered on a clean California title, though it appears the bike is no longer in California’s system.
