The Swiss watchmaker Tissot has been the Official Timekeeper of MotoGP since 2001, monitoring riders with 1/1000th of a second precision. They’ve made annual Limited Edition watches to celebrate that fact, and today we have an example from the 2008 run. Here’s what Tissot had to say in their Certificate of Authenticity: “The constant search for innovation is particularly noticeable this year, with a bright red structured rubber bracelet and stylized brake-disk bezel with carbon-fiber dial, makes this year’s MotoGP limited edition a timepiece to look out for. The case-back is engraved with the official MotoGP logo as well as the limited edition number (out of a total of 7002 pieces).

The watch is presented in a special helmet box in the same matching red with the 2007 MotoGP circuit displayed around the watch. The 18 circuits are engraved on the medallions which can be interchanged on the case-back of the watch, using a specially designed tool, provided with each watch purchased, which allows the watch to remain perfectly water resistant.”

This example is #2,391 out of 7,002. The seller acquired it in 2007 from a jewelry store and states that it has never been worn.

The security plastics are also still present everywhere.”

The sale includes the watch, the box, the authenticity papers, and all of the 18 backplates.

Currently located in Lienden, Netherlands, this watch is offered on a Bill of Sale only. The seller estimates that shipping to the continental US will be roughly $60. Have any Tissot stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the comments!
