At the turn of the millennium, the MV Agusta brand was revived with the release of a new flagship, the 750cc F4. Penned by the great Massimo Tamburini, the F4 boasted a ground-breaking design that redefined the modern superbike. In the years that followed, the F4 underwent a series of revisions and model updates, though the bike’s incredible aesthetics went largely unchanged. Underneath the proverbial hood, however, progress was constant. What started out as a three-quarter-liter engine was replaced with an increasingly potent liquid-cooled, 998cc, four-stroke, 16-valve, DOHC radial valve, four-cylinder mill, and in August of 2006, an F4 1000 R achieved the title of world’s fastest 1,000cc production motorcycle when it clocked a speed of 185.882 mph on the dried bed of the Bonneville Salt Flats.
Throughout its impressive production run, the F4 was occasionally offered with limited edition upgrade kits (under the Special Parts or SP moniker) that typically consisted of unique bodywork and a few other changes. Notable examples included the Viper (50 made), the Mamba (300 made in the full kit, 300 more in a basic kit), and the Corse (300 in full kit, 300 as a base kit). The Corse was specifically designed for the 2007 F4 1000 R and was available for both the monoposto and biposto bikes.
The base kit included specific plastic bodywork with a red/silver/white livery, red/white seats, a silver plaque on the top triple, certificate of authenticity, and an alarm. MV also offered a variety of options, including an upgraded exhaust or silver forged aluminum wheels.
The “Special Parts” code for the Corse 1+1 was SP15. While MV allotted for up to 300 Corse kits, it’s likely that just half that were actually produced and less than 10 of the Corse Biposto kits were sent to the US.
This example is VIN: ZCGAKFGMX7V200511. The seller acquired it five years ago from a collection in Florida.
During his ownership, the seller has covered 5 miles. The odometer shows 3,107 miles.
The seller acquired this and several other motorcycles with the intent of exporting them to a Caribbean island to create a motorcycle museum. “Those plans were cancelled after Hurricane Dorian hit the Caribbean in 2019.”
Maintenance:
“We have one service record from the previous owner dating July 2016 for spark plugs, a fuel line, a switch, and air filter for $399.12.”
“We took it to a two part service at a local Italian motorcycle specialist Moto Corse, the services dating April 2020 include spark plugs, fuel injection hose, fuel filter, and injector service for $806.94 and $157.50. We did an oil change less than a year ago and only ridden it less than a mile around the parking lot while doing the periodic start-ups and getting it to operating temperature. It has a new NOCO lithium battery and is on a trickle charger. The gas was drained and replaced with fresh gas with stabilizer two months ago. All electronics work, lights, blinkers, horn, alarm/immobilizer (need to press the remote large button for 3sec after turning on the ignition in order to start the motorcycle).”
“There are no mechanical issues, everything was confirmed as working prior to listing. We rode it around the lot and brakes, clutch, gearbox are buttery smooth, and original MV Agusta remote and alarm works perfect. The motorcycle starts up quickly and revs steadily with no issue even after two to three weeks of sitting in our air-conditioned storage.”
Modifications:
In addition to the Corse Base kit, this bike has a battery tender lead.
Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller notes “very slight blemishes in the metal ring around the fuel filler area, and small blemished in the front corners of the driver’s saddle/seat. Just found out while taking the pictures the underneath of the main fairing it scraped at the bottom front, can only see when looking from underneath the bike.”
The sale includes one key, alarm fob, bike cover, and rear wheel stand.
“We were given a photocopy of a certificate when purchasing it saying it is number 4 out of 300, the person who sold it to us said that’s all he had for it.”
Currently located in Pompano Beach, Florida, this MV Agusta is offered on a clean Florida title. Have any F4 stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
