The Swiss watchmaker Tissot has been the Official Timekeeper of MotoGP since 2001, monitoring riders with 1/1000th of a second precision. They’ve made annual Limited Edition watches to celebrate that fact, and today we have an example from the 2007 run.
Here’s what Tissot had to say in their Certificate of Authenticity:
“This new MotoGP Chronograph is distinguised by a dynamic desgin and a sophisticated Valjoux automatic movement. The design of this unique Tissot timepiece is inspired by the world of two-wheeled motor sport, including a bezel evoking the brake disk and clamp of the motorcycle wheel.”
“On the stylised see-through case back, showcasing the Valjoux 7750 movement, limited edition is numbered from 0001 to 2007 pieces.”
This example is #1941 of 2007. The seller is the original owner, he puchased it new from Tourneau in Scottsale, Arizona in 2008.
The helmet case is also a watch winder.
The sale includes the original box, carrying bag, manual, warranty information, Tissot’s history, and more documentation.
It also includes a still-new, uncut rubber strap with pins.
The seller had a “complete maintenance service” performed by Tissot in January of 2018.
Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller notes a small scratch on the strap lock.
There are some minor wear marks on the helmet and box.
Currently located in Santa Monica, California, this Tissot is offered on a Bill of Sale only. Have any Tissot stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
