In 1956, Johnny Allen set a land speed record of 214 miles per hour on a Triumph at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah – a couple of years later, they paid homage to that accomplishment with a performance model that bore the iconic name. The original Bonnie was produced until Triumph’s bankruptcy in 1983, and it was brought back in 2001 to much fanfare.

The reincarnated model utilized a new engine design. The 2007 Triumph Bonneville T100 is a retro-styled standard motorcycle featuring an 865cc air-cooled parallel-twin engine. It is notable as the final year using carburetors before switching to fuel injection, producing roughly 67 horsepower and an effortless, upright riding experience.
