Aprilia introduced the Tuono just after the turn of the millennium, and the naked Italian superbike has remained an important model in the Noale firm’s lineup ever since. Just like with its full-faired counterpart, the Tuono was well received by the riding public – a good-looking bike with a well-designed chassis, top-shelf components, and an exotic roaring V-Twin exhaust note that was purely sublime.
Manufactured in November of 2007, this example is VIN: ZD4RRTT158S000762. The seller purchased this motorcycle five years ago from a private party in Virginia.
The odometer shows 19,360 miles. The seller has put 6,000 miles on this example.
Maintenance:
The seller notes the following: They installed a new factory radiator due to a pinhole leak, they changed the oil every 3,000 miles with Motul fully synthetic oil, they replaced the coolant with Engine Ice every two years, flushed the brake fluid every two years, and cleaned and oiled the chain every 600 miles using chain wax.
The seller states this example was garage kept on a battery tender, and they used ethanol free gasoline to avoid expansion in the tank.
He adds that he lubricated the clutch slave cylinder piston seals with silicone (which eliminates black clutch fluid in the reservoir) and has performed a fix that addresses the known issue of gas spilling out of the closed OEM fuel cap (especially when the tank is full).
Modifications:
Mivv carbon fiber slip-on exhaust.
DID EK 530 gold chain and new OEM sprockets.
Not pictured: Motolectric Hi-Cap MOSFET Voltage regulator and wiring upgrade. The seller states this addresses poor factory wiring and “brown plug overheat failure”. Smaller Brembo front brake fluid reservoir and Kurveygirl brake reservoir mount.
Racetech gold valve cartridges with new fork seals and fluid.
