The Swiss watchmaker Tissot has been the Official Timekeeper of MotoGP since 2001, monitoring riders with 1/1000th of a second precision. They’ve made annual Limited Edition watches to celebrate that fact, and today we have an example from the 2008 run. Here’s what Tissot had to say in their Certificate of Authenticity: “The constant search for innovation is particularly noticeable this year, with a bright yellow structured rubber bracelet and rotating brake-disk bezel with carbon-fiber dial, makes this year’s MotoGP limited edition a timepiece to look out for. The case-back is engraved with the official MotoGP logo as well as the limited edition number (out of a total of 8002 pieces).”
“The watch is presented in a special helmet box in the same matching yellow with the 2008 MotoGP circuit displayed around the watch. The 18 circuits are engraved on the medallions which can be interchanged on the case-back of the watch, using a specially designed tool, provided with each watch purchased, which allows the watch to remain perfectly water resistant.”
