When Suzuki refreshed the GSX-R600 for 2008, it had a lot of expectations – it was replacing Suzuki’s best selling motorcycle (and the best selling sportbike in America). The 2008 model featured new styling, improved midrange power, Drive Mode Selector, more gas capacity, electronically controlled steering damper, and a better slipper clutch.
Manufactured in March of 2008, this example is VIN: JS1GN7EA482110733. The seller acquired it eight months ago here on Iconic Motorbikes. The previous owner acquired it in 2018 from his brother, who had used it as a commuter for the prior two years.
During his ownership, the seller has roughly 200 miles. The odometer shows 4,626 miles.
Maintenance:
Per the previous owner, “my brother bought it from a friend who low-sided it and then never rode again. The bike sat around for a while and then my brother bought it to fix it up as his commuter bike. He found some used fairings and a goofily painted tank from a race team to get her up and running.” The seller replaced the tank and bodywork.
He also did the following: “New clutch lever and new front brake lever.
Oil and oil filter change.
Replace scratched muffler with newer OEM muffler.
Replaced lock set.”
Modifications:
K&N air filter.
Swingarm spools, license plate relocation.
ProGrip tank protector.
Cosmetic Blemishes:
“The fuel tank is a lighter shade of blue from the rest of the bodywork.”
Inside of the tank:
It is riding on Michelin Power RS 2CT+ tires with date codes from 2016.
The sale includes “another complete set of bodywork in blue and white that was never used.”
Currently located in Chino, California, this Suzuki is offered on a clean California title with registration current through May 2023.
