Description

Additional photos of this Aprilia RS125 are available here for your perusal.

American fans of Aprilia rejoiced when the Italian firm announced that they would export the RS125 to the US, though it wasn’t all good news – due to EPA emissions standards, the baby RS was exclusively for closed-course riding even though it came with lights, mirrors, a horn, and everything else you’d expect to see on a street-legal machine. The 125cc 2-stroke engine is a Rotax unit, and fueling was handled by a 28mm Dell’orto carb. Dry weight was just 280 pounds and while it seems like a tiny bike, the ergonomics aren’t bad for bigger riders, either.

In 2009, Aprilia offered a special livery (known as Spain’s No 1), a replica of the 250cc GP bike that Jorge Lorenzo won the 2007 World Championship with.

Manufactured in July of 2008, this example is VIN: ZD4RMC0C09S000142. The seller acquired it in March 2017 from the original owner.

The odometer shows 2,513 miles.

This RS125 originated in Tucson, Arizona. The original owner did one track day on the bike then did all the custom body work and added the race parts. All the original street body work has been in a box since. The original owner also raced a season with ASMA on this bike in 2010. I did multiple track days on this bike coaching new riders with DRRO and I made sure to keep the two stroke spirit alive at the race track! This motorcycle has never been down despite its track history. I have done one top end refresh on this bike and made sure to keep up with regular maintenance.”

Modifications:
Ohlins rear shock.

Sharkskinz race bodywork.

The sale includes the original bodywork.

ProGrip tank protector.

Not pictured is a 34mm Dell’orto carburetor and an oil pump delete (premix only).

Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller notes “small areas of paint chipped off. It’s been recently cleaned and detailed.”
