No Reserve – 2009 Aprilia RS125 With 1 Kilometer

American fans of Aprilia rejoiced when the Italian firm announced that they would export the RS125 to the US, though it wasn’t all good news – due to EPA emissions standards, the baby RS was exclusively for closed-course riding even though it came with lights, mirrors, a horn, and everything else you’d expect to see on a street-legal machine. The 125cc 2-stroke engine is a Rotax unit, and fueling was handled by a 28mm Dell’orto carb. Dry weight was just 280 pounds and while it seems like a tiny bike, the ergonomics aren’t bad for bigger riders, either.

MCN called it the “undisputed icon of the 125cc class“, adding that its “incredible handling beggars belief.”

In 2009, Aprilia offered a special livery (known as Spain’s No 1), a replica of the 250cc GP bike that Jorge Lorenzo won the 2007 World Championship with.

Manufactured in September of 2008, this example is VIN: ZD4RMC0C19S000022. We acquired it last week from the original owner, who kept it on display since acquiring it from California Speed Sports in Dublin, California.

The odometer shows 1 kilometer. The bike retains the protective film on the dash from shipping.

Maintenance:
In preparation for the listing, we flushed the fluids and gave the bike a thorough detailing.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection. The bike was kept under a cover for years which left some marks on the windshield that we were not able to get out – they are only visible from certain angles.

The sale includes a HJC-branded cardboard cutout of Jorge Lorenzo referencing his 2012 MotoGP championship.
