The BMW R1200R has a rich history that traces back to the iconic R series motorcycles produced by BMW Motorrad. The R series has been a staple of BMW’s lineup since the 1920s, renowned for its boxer engine configuration and distinct design. The R1200R was first introduced in 2006 as a successor to the R1150R, bringing significant updates and improvements. At the heart of the motorcycle is a powerful 1,170cc boxer engine, putting out roughly 109 horsepower and 85 ft-lb of torque.

It incorporates BMW’s advanced fuel injection system for optimized fuel efficiency and throttle response. The bike features BMW’s Telelever front suspension and Paralever rear suspension, offering excellent stability, precise handling, and minimizing dive during braking. Other notable technical features include ABS braking system for enhanced safety. With its enduring legacy and continuous evolution, the BMW R1200R has solidified its place in the history of BMW Motorrad and continues to captivate riders with its timeless appeal and impressive capabilities.

Manufactured in October of 2008, this example is VIN: WB10398099ZS26740. The seller purchased this motorcycle two months ago from a private party in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The odometer shows 40,689 miles. During their ownership, the seller has put 800 miles on this example.

In preparation for this listing, the seller has changed the oil. The seller states the previous owner performed a major service at 36,000 miles. Per the seller: “ Major service at 35,983(Dec 16, 2021), two new tires, valve adjustment, all fluids, air filter, alternator belt, brake fluid, spark plugs. Full Ohlins suspension upgrade and was recently rebuilt in 2021. Seat redone completely. BMW panniers painted.” They have included documents of the work done on the motorcycle.

Shipping Information

Continental US:
Haul Bikes will ship anything sold through Iconic for a starting rate of $750 in the Continental US (prices may increase in rural markets), and Iconic will handle the paperwork on your behalf. You do not need to crate your bike or drain the gas/disconnect the battery if you go with Haul Bikes. We are glad to work with the shipper of your choice as well, but you will have to arrange it.

Please note:

  • spares/extras will have to be shipped separately via FedEx or similar.
  • the fee includes $15,000 of insurance with a $500 deductible. Additional insurance can be purchased at a cost of $50 per additional $5,000 of value.
