Multistrada translates to “many roads” – a very fitting name for such a versatile motorcycle. It debuted in 2003 as a pavement-focused adventure bike, and has evolved into one of the fastest ways to cover miles on two wheels. In 2010, Ducati introduced the Multistrada 1200, which was powered by a revised Testastretta motor as found in the 1198 superbike. The comfortable ergonomics and prodigious power make for a machine that’s easy to ride quickly – the 1200 Multi won the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in 2011 and 2012.

The “S” model got upgrades over the base model including standard ABS, traction control, and Ohlins electronic suspension.

The “Touring” package increases versatility with side bags, heated grips, and a centerstand. The four different electronic modes (Sport, Tour, Urban, and Enduro) hint at the different personalities that lie within – it’s like having several motorcycles in one.

The seller of this example (VIN: ZDM12BLW3AB006797) a 60-year old certified mechanic. He is the second owner, having acquired it four years ago from the original owner, a private party in Santa Monica, California. Since then he’s covered approximately 8,000 miles. The odometer now shows 50,657 miles.

Factory Options:
Ducati fog light kit.

Ducati side cases and top case with liners.

Ducati cover and handlebar bag.

Ducati bar ends.

Full Ducati race kit (Termi exhaust/ECU/Air filter)

The seller states that it has been dealer serviced since new and runs perfectly with a recent major service as well as a “partial dealer engine refresh at 33k. It got a new rear cylinder and piston, valve job done on both heads. I was told it was a valve failure, common to that year model.”

He notes that there are minor defects on the side panels and that “one luggage bag mount is a little loose.”

The sale includes the factory saddlebags and trunk, bag liners, cover, three keys, maintenance history, and a handlebar bag.

Currently located in Los Angeles, California, this Multi is offered on a clean California title with registration current through September 2022.

The seller is letting this Ducati go as he’s making room for a Vintage Suzuki RE-5. Have any Multistrada stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the comments!
