Introduced in 2011, the “Evo” variant of Ducati’s 848 was something that Cycle World called a “midlife upgrade“, with “performance gains…intended to benefit racers and street riders alike.”
The engine got new throttle bodies with larger bores, revised cylinder heads, and a new profile of the piston crown, which significantly bumped the compression ratio from 12.0:1 to 13.2:1. This helped increase horsepower to 140 at the crank.
On top of those upgrades, Ducati offered a “Corse Special Edition” with hardware/software upgrades and an exclusive paint job. Upgrades included an Öhlins rear shock, 330mm front rotors, DTC (Ducati Traction Control), and DQS (Ducati Quick Shifter).
This example is VIN: ZDM1XBMVXCB021887. The seller is the original owner, he purchased this example new from Williamsville Competition in December 2012 and states, “It was used strictly for track days I never did any racing with it. It was converted to track only around 7,000-7,500 miles. Belts were replaced February 2019 if I’m not mistaken. I have receipt from it in the paperwork to the bike. Bodywork will be included only if my asking price is met anything under asking price I keep them. I don’t have the original fairing stay but I have an aftermarket replacement. Front and rear lights go with the body work. The rear I have the originals and the ones that came with the fender eliminator kit.”
The odometer shows 10,720 miles.
