Description
Additional photos of this are NSF250R available here for your perusal.
2011 marked the end of two-stroke world championships – the next year, Moto3 moved to four-strokes, and Honda’s first factory effort was the NSF250R. Rules capped bore size at 81mm, revs at 14,000 rpm, and valves at four.
Honda called their NSF250R “a new racing machine for a new era: light, compact, high output, high performance.”
Claimed power? 48 ponies, which were plenty for the feather light dry weight of 180 pounds. Honda offered this racer in the US in 2012 with a MSRP of $28,599.
This example is VIN: JH2MR03C0CK000089, Engine #: 1000112.
It was likely built in September of 2011.
True mileage is unknown as there is no odometer. The seller (a scooter shop in Australia that is no longer in business) states that it is zero miles, and based on our visual inspection of components that show wear with use (radiator, rotors, etc) we would agree.
In preparation for the listing, the seller had us flush the coolant, flush the brake fluid, clean the injector, and adjust the chain. Olly did the work, he notes that the brake pads are 100% front/rear.
Please note that for the coolant flush we used anti-freeze (specifically Maxima Racing Coolanol) – this was specifically in case the next buyer keeps it on display as we do not want to run any risk of corroding engine internals if it sits for a long time. If the buyer wants the bike track ready, we can flush the anti-freeze for distilled water and Water Wetter/buyer’s choice for free labor. The tires are original and should also be replaced before track time.
Modifications:
“Moto3” stickers on the front fairing and tail, these have been clearcoated over.
AGV sticker.
Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
Inside of the tank:
It is riding on the original Bridgestone Battlax Racing slicks from 2011.
The sale includes the owner’s manual/parts list/competition handbook and a stand which mounts off the left footpeg.
Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Honda is offered on a Bill of Sale only. Have any NSF250R stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
