Description
Click here for an VINData Motorcycle History Report on this 2013 BMW R1200GS.
Upon its introduction in 1999, BMW’s R1150GS redefined the adventure bike category. By 2004, however, the model was beginning to show its age. In order to stay competitive, BMW had to give it an overhaul.
What resulted was the R1200GS, a platform that weighed some 66lbs lighter than its predecessor with the added benefit of a further 19hp.
Of course, BMW’s refinements didn’t end with the bike’s launch; over the years, the German motorcycle manufacturer continued to update the R1200GS. For 2007, the engine got an additional 5hp, while the brakes benefitted from a new Integral ABS II antilock system (without the noisy servo assistance). Assuming you wanted the absolute pinnacle of performance, BMW would also sell you optional add-ons such as electronic suspension adjustment and Automatic Stability Control.
In 2013, BMW debuted an all-new generation of their industry-defining GS series. After a 30+ year tradition of air/oil cooling, they moved to what’s become known as the “water boxer” engine, a liquid-cooled platform that boosted horsepower from 110 to 125, plus a healthy 92 lb-ft of torque.
This example is VIN: WB10A1105DZ183735. The seller purchased the bike new from Hollywood BMW approximately 12 years ago.
The seller has covered all of the miles since new. The odometer shows 21,114 miles.
